Groundbreaking celebration

With a groundbreaking celebration on April 23, 2025, Western Sky crossed a significant milestone on the road to building a new, nonprofit nursing home in Grant. The Western Sky board formed in 2022, when Golden Ours Convalescent Home closed in Grant, leaving the community without an option for long-term care. Pancake feed & auction Oct. 5

The Grant Lions and Rotary clubs are hosting a Pancake Feed for Western Sky from 5:30 to 7:30 on Oct. 5 at the Perkins County Fairgrounds. Auction begins at 7 p.m. Some items available: • 2001 Ford Expedition, mint condition with 19,395 miles (Reserve priced) • Two 1996 $50 gold coins (Reserve $2,500 each) • Two UNL football tickets • Eight beef bundles donated by the Wilson family . . .

Town Hall Meeting July 25

We invite you to come to our town hall meeting on July 25, 2024 at 6 p.m. at the Perkins County Fairgrounds. Our consultant Tim Groshans from Burwell and USDA Representative Sara Pierce from North Platte will be there to offer updates and answer your questions. The USDA has obligated $13.9 million for the Western Sky project. This is an exciting step forward. With terms of 3.5% for 40 years, the pieces are now in place for us to move . . .
