UPDATE: Gov. Pillen unable to attend open house

Governor Pillen has reached out to the Board of Western Sky Community Care Center, advising he will not be able attend the March 21st Open House as originally planned.

The Governor is making himself available to participate in the second dignified transfer of remains for the Bellevue, Nebraska, soldier who gave the ultimate sacrifice on March 1, 2026, while serving in Kuwait.

The board fully supports his decision. The governor may be able to visit our new facility for a Grand Opening celebration in April.

Remarks by additional dignitaries are still planned for 2:00 p.m. We invite everyone to come and see the new facility on Saturday!
